Phase VI was more recently identified as a priority to improve pedestrian and cyclist safety traveling south to Jackson Road. Preliminary plans recommend widening the existing walkway on the bridge over I-94 and implementing safety measures to improve the on- and off-ramp crossing experience. The project requires substantial input from state and county transportation authorities, and is still in the early stages of planning. Both Phase V and VI have received substantial financial contributions from the state to fund design and construction of these segments. The contributions are a direct result of assistance from Representative Donna Lasinkski’s office.
