The Scio Township Election Commission is established in state law (MCL 168.719) and comprises the Clerk, Supervisor, and Treasurer. The Election Commission meets prior to every election, and is responsible for

  • Establishing precincts
  • Establishing Absent Voter Counting Boards
  • Assessing voting equipment needs
  • Performing logic and accuracy testing for voting equipment
  • Authorizing printing and provision of ballots for local elections
  • Providing election supplies
  • Appointing precinct inspectors and notifying major political parties of such
  • Carrying out other election-related duties.
